She Bangs.

It’s that time of year again! It’s officially FRINGE season. Funny that I named this blog post “She Bangs” because frankly… I loathe that word, HA! It’s a fringe people. Anyway, now that I got that out of the way, lets get into it. Would a fringe work on your face structure, with your hair texture, or with your lifestyle? I’m going to be very honest with ya’ll here. A fringe can be quite the maintenance actually, but with that being said, if you are absolutely sure this is YOUR look, I will share a few tips with you in order to achieve the right fringe for you!

  • Never ask for a fringe in the summer. All around a bad idea. Nothing worse than sweaty greasy “bangs” ew. You will always want them off of your face. Wait until autumn or winter.

  • If you have a round face, a side fringe or curtain fringe proportionately looks best. Be mindful that a straight across blunt fringe will cut you off and make your face even rounder so you will have to counter it with length elsewhere.

  • Your hair will jump up after it is initially cut so leave a bit of length to start. You can always go shorter

  • Steer clear of a fringe that is TOO wispy. Commit to it, otherwise it does not look purposeful and looks like you grabbed a few strands and cut them yourself in the bathroom.

  • If you have very strong cowlicks in the front hairline, you will undoubtedly have a harder time getting your new fringe to cooperate. The key with this, is to work with it not against it. Pick a shape and length that doesn’t require you to fight with it every morning for 20 minutes. Not worth it.

  • Always bring photos to your stylist as a reference. Obviously find images that best match your face shape and texture.

Here a few of my fave inspirations this season! Enjoy
